Vintage Desk Makeover

Before After Vintage Desk Makeover - Coral

After a few weeks of searching for the perfect desk, I finally scored this solid wood beauty off last Friday. The top was in need of some TLC, but I was going to paint it anyway, so I got it for a decent price. I just loved the curve of the drawers and the dainty feet!

For the color, I chose Behr’s Watermelon Punch in hi-gloss. Because the desk was so dark and the paint color was so light, I had to apply 4 coats but it took no time at all.

Home Depot also had these gorgeous lion pulls in their hardware section and I’ve been wanting to use them on something for such a long time! It only cost me $25 for 7 pulls and I think they really take the desk to another level.

It turned out exactly how I imagined. I think this piece will be with us for a long time.

The office portion of the room makeover is now complete!

I bought some beautiful fabric from Fabricville this week to make pillow covers with, so I’ll give you an update on how well that goes next  :)

  1. Love it!

  2. Beautiful desk. Love the lion pulls… but if I’d had my personal choice the color would have been lilac or lavender. Still you did an awesome job.

    1. Thanks Liz! My mother would agree with you, she loves lavender!

  3. Did you have to do any sanding or just applied the paint?

    1. I lightly sanded the areas that would receive the most amount of wear and tear such as the top of the dresser and the drawer fronts. Thanks for asking!
