Today I’m continuing my colorful fall theme with these easy to make plaid pumpkins. This is my first year ever decorating for fall and I’m having a ton of fun doing so! Instead of the traditional orange, red and brown decor, I’ve been playing around with pinks, greens and black and white.

DecoArt Crafter’s Acrylic Paint:
- Cherry Blossom Pink
- Party Pink
- Early Spring Green
- Shamrock Green
- Spa Blue
To start, I painted all of my pumpkins white, or you can purchase white craft pumpkins to skip this step. Then I painted 7 vertical stripes in the lighter shade of the two pinks. You can make the stripes thicker or thinner, I just tried to make sure they were spaced out equally.
Next I painted horizontal stripes using the same Cherry Blossom Pink.
Wait until the paint dries then you’ll use the darker shade of pink to paint squares where the vertical and horizontal lines connect.
Three easy steps and your done!
Repeat these steps for the rest of the pumpkins and add in a few extra black and white striped and polka dot pumpkins for a little extra glamor!
These would make a beautiful centerpiece for your dining room or you could show them off on your front step like I did!
I also mixed in a few ginger jars along with a little blue and white for a chinoiserie chic vibe.
I think they’re the perfect addition to my DIY pink pumpkin wreath and emerald green door. If you missed last week’s pumpkin wreath tutorial, you can check it out here!
