Bathroom Makeover (Part 1) Bye Bye Fishy!

When our realtor first showed us the house we were going to buy, my husband was checking on all the important things like the electrical, plumbing, foundation, etc. I, however, was fixated on the fish tile in the bathroom shower…. I mean how was I going to live with this??

I needed a temporary fix since I wasn’t about to jump into retiling our shower, so I went to my trusty Google and found tile stickers made for people just like me who just can’t go on knowing that these tiles exist!

They come in a pack of six and two different sizes to choose from.  You can also buy clear ones if you’re just looking to add some pattern to your tiles. You can check them out by clicking on the link below:

I also tried a couple different products designed to clean grout with no success so I went to Home Depot and bought Polyblend Grout Renew.  You apply it with a toothbrush and wipe off the excess as you go. It was very quick and easy!

I highly recommend it! And it also comes in quite a few different colors.  So next, I think I’ll attempt to do something about the bamboo tiles at the top of the shower…. stay tuned :)

This is so freaking clever! I have a similar dilemma with my shower tiles and this is brilliant! I’m definitely going to look into doing this. Thanks!

    1. You’re welcome! I’m glad I’m not alone in this dilemma haha

  2. I love what you do!
I too have forever been charged with DIM (Doing It Myself) and the satisfaction I’ve derived over the years by the “doing” and the results I was able to achieve has been enormously gratifying. Things are harder to do now that I’m older but so long as I can, I PREFER to do it this way with my own personal stamp on whatever the project, and I always get such a kick out of people who are as innovative and creative as you are.!

    1. Thanks Denise! DIY is so addictive!! I think even if I won the lottery I would have a hard time buying something that I know I could make myself :) Thanks for commenting!
