Whimsical Pom Pom Christmas Decor

If you haven’t noticed already, pom poms are popping up everywhere this year from pillows and blankets to sweaters and slippers so why not use them to add a bit of color to these grey days with some DIY Christmas decor!

This week we finally had our old rotten front step replaced so I gave our front door a little makeover too by adding this cute brass lion door knocker and a new door handle to match.

I wanted some fun whimsical Christmas decor this year for the front step so I grabbed a few bags of pom poms from the dollar store and made this fun garland and twig wreath!

Using a hot glue gun I simply attached big and small pom poms to the wreath. I purchased the twig wreath and black and white ribbon from Michael’s for less than $10.

I was originally going to buy some pre-made pom pom garland but at $30 a strand, I decided to make my own with a ton of pom poms and needle and thread! I also added a few decorations to the garland for a bit of whimsy.

I love how the colors pop against the green and the wreath could really be kept up all year.

I’ve been banned from buying anymore pom poms by my husband for a while…. but I still have a few left over from this project so I’ll have some cute gift wrapping ideas coming soon!

  1. I LOVE THIS!!! I have some catching up to do on your blog (and everyone elses) for sure. Love the pom poms. Especially love how you glued some to the ends of little wispy twigs sticking off the wreath :)
